Just wanted to say hello.. I understand kind of what you are going through, keep working the steps.

It has been a while, huh? Thanks for the kind words. I hear the steps are the solution to my being a crazy bitch, so I’m pretty excited about that. I’m sure there are some other people that are pretty happy about that too. :) (see: finally!) I hope you are doing great. If you feel up to it, I’d love to hear from you and what you’ve been up to.

Ashley, I am getting back from an exhausting workout. Riding up my piss stained elevator( I left an aggressive note to the owners of the dog who cannot hold its bladder). And I jump on facebook, like I do everyday, its my routine. I smoke a cigarette, drink some coffee, and read through my recent feeds. Its relaxing. Each week I check out this site, and am proud of how its coming together. Its really cool to see you put yourself out there like you do. I would have left this on my favorite post, but I dont have one. Its good to see that you are putting pictures up now, and you look alot better than the last time i remember seeing you. ( remember the bottle of Jameson and cocaine we downed at my friends apartment?) I think that was one of the last times we really got to hang out. My memory could be fading, but thats the last time i remember seeing you, and that was just before i left for the army. I am honored to call you my best friend, and when the days are rough for me in the army, i remember that i have you and brandon waiting for me to get out of here. that helps me muscle through any hard or bad day. You guys are a blessing, and i cant wait for my army life to be over, and for my real life to start again. Looking forward to seeing you dude. You are the favorite sister i never had. talk to you later.

I think you are right about the last time that we saw each other. I am really looking forward to spending time with you under much different circumstances. And thank you for the compliment on the pictures. I have been really trying to take care of myself (I am saying this sitting on my couch eating a PLATEFUL of nachos hahaha) but am trying to also give myself some slack in the food/eating department because I know my body is having cravings for a reason. Just trying to keep even seemingly healthy things in moderation, which is hard. The pendulum always seems to be swinging to one side or the other and never finding the middle with me.
I cannot wait until you get out of the army and we can sit back, crack a cold… Coca-Cola :) and really catch up. It is seriously overdue.
And BTW, I don’t believe blood makes family, it’s love. You are my brother, dude. You are family. Always.

    Dear Ashley,
I am visiting an old friend on Hyde St here in the Tenderloin, at this moment struggling with my dreaded Forth Step. (My plan is to get it the heck finished before I get back to Philadelphia tomorrow.) While not-so-merrily procrastinating, I stumbled over your blog and it suddenly occurred to me that I need to bring back something from here for my sponsor Elaine, an avid quilter. I don’t know beans about quilting (I am a painter, tho) – Think you could suggest something interesting/creative/joyful and/or indiginous-to-San Francisco that might inspire her quilting sensibilities?

I would appreciate any suggestion, if you see this in time

Maybe I can just stop by your shop on my next break -Llinda

Hey Ashley, I haven’t heard from you on the Quilt with us site, in a while. I left a comment on your page there a while back. Don’t forget we want to know how you are doing to. I hope all is well with you and that life is treating you well.

  7. Michelle says:

Hey Ashely, I can’t seen to be able to send you a message with my e-mail for the red white and blue swap to here so I have sent it to your quilt with us account. Let me know you get it. thanks

Ashley – I watch for your blog entries, and am pleased you are back. I think of you when you’re not on the net, and always hope you’ll get through. It’s tough, girl, but so are you, and you’ll make it, I know.
