Hi! I live in the Tenderloin neighborhood of San Francisco with my fiancé, Brandon, our cat Chloe and our dog Ferdinand. When I started this blog in February of 2011, I was addicted to meth and struggling to stay alive. Quilting and sewing became an incredible outlet of expression and escape for me. Over the course of the last several months, Alcoholics Anonymous has given me a new life that is free from drugs and alcohol!
I use a Singer 4411 Heavy Duty, a gift from Brandon, to do all my sewing and quilting, while I use this blog to chronicle my projects, my struggles and successes.
I am most interested in learning about color, exploring the challenges of designing my own patterns and some day braving embroidery…
I also love coffee.
I am excited to have you here with me on this amazing journey through life and can’t wait to see what it holds for all of us!
Thanks for reading!

Love your Blog!!!
Hi Ash, I am living vicariously through you for my creativity and having a blast, because you have a knack a making me a part of your experience through your writing:). You are such a gifted writer! Hi Ashley,
I just wanted to say that it was a real pleasure meeting you and i am sure that your quilting business will be very successful!
Thank you so much! It was a real pleasure meeting you too! I was telling Brandon how refreshing it was to meet you- you really exuded an element of sincerity that I truly appreciated. I hope that we will see you and your wife at Glide sometime. We will be there this Sunday for the eleven o’clock. Just FYI, if you do go, it’s usually good to get there at around ten thirty because it gets packed. Again, hope to run into you soon!
I am going to San Francisco next week for a holiday are there any quilting shop where I can buy quilt fabric and charm squares etc?
How cool! SF has some amazing fabric stores. I would definitely reccomend checking out Britex Fabrics.

Also, PeaPod Fabrics.

And Mendel’s

I hope you have fun and enjoy your time in our beautiful city!
Hi there,
I am a quilter interested in meeting and maybe starting a quilt group to share tips and designs and motivation. Any interest out there?
I’m definitely interested! Just send me some info about when you are free and what kind of stuff you are interesting in/working on. You can reach me at Ashley@TenderloinTextiles.com or Ash.N.Jackson@gmail.com I was so excited when I saw your comment BTW. It is easy to find people who sew or quilt in the blog-world, but difficult to find the same to actually collaborate or share ideas and work on things in person. I have one sewing partner and we meet once a week and her presence alone (but great ideas also) have done amazing things for my productivity and just my work itself. I really look forward to hearing from you!
