Well, I have finished my first quilt using a sewing machine. The quilt I currently have on my bed is one I, about a year ago, had sewn by hand. I was actually in the process of moving into a new apartment with Brandon and couldn’t find my measuring tape, or didn’t have one, and used a hardcover book to measure it out and square it up.
My best friend Kye and his wife Katie are expecting a baby soon and this quilt is especially intended for them and little Benjamin. I learned a lot making it- in particular, I really gained a lot of accuracy in my alignment and also understanding of my machine. Most importantly, I hope this quilt will be a part of their life, just as I hope to be.

All I can say is that I am personally really proud that the first quilt you came out with was intended for my son. Its an honor. Being your friend all these years has been a blessing. I cant wait to bring him home from the hospital and lay him down on his bed, with his own personal blankie. I really hope it becomes his security blanket. The site looks like it is picking up already, and I hope your etsy.com shop goes really well. I think you have a real gift for making things. May I make a little suggestion, or maybe even a request? Well I expect you would say yes. Maybe a clutter of triangles assembled in no particular order would make an eyepopping addition. It would also remind me of the furniture painting business we tried to start up when we were in highschool. Take it easy, and enjoy your new hobby. And keep posting, I stop by every once in a while and admire your craft.
Hey Ash, I know your sis Kaitlin is visiting, so I am hoping yhou are teachig her to be a quilting expert during the visit??
