I can barely keep my eyes open as I am writing this, but I have some very exciting news to share before I go to sleep:
I have 6 months sober today!
I wanted to really take the time to thank everyone for sticking by me through all of this. The encouragement and support along with the frankness, honesty and openness with which others have shared their struggles and triumphs have kept me going in some of the darkest times of my life.
Thank you so much for helping me get my life back.
I couldn’t be happier to be here, I mean, really be here.

And wow too, that quilt is really looking good. I like your border plans very much.
Have also just seen your lovely photos of the sea. One feels such energy from it. All the best for the forthcoming six months. Remember, if you can do one, you CAN do two – and by extension, if you can do six, you CAN do twelve.

Thank you so much! I had unintentionally taken a little break from my gratitude list, but I really love doing it. When I am in the moment, sometimes it’s hard to see things well enough to “appreciate” them but when I review the pictures before posting them I always find myself smiling. Six months! I’ll bet six months ago, you didn’t think you could make it through the weekend without taking a giant step backward, and now look at you! I’m so very proud of you, I know it hasn’t been easy, and I admire your courage Ashley.

Actually, up until about three months ago I kept a bag of clean needles in my desk drawer, “just in case”, whatever that means. I know my position is not something I can get prideful or lazy about, but I am so happy to have made it this far.
